The Shipping Setup option sets the rules on what type of shipping charges will apply to the catalog as a whole. These rules may be overridden on a per item basis when you are setting up the individual catalog items. Internet Conduits offers five options for shipping your catalog items in the USA and one International Zone setup option. The USA options are No Shipping, Shipping Based on Number of Items, Specified Carriers*, Shipping Based on Order Amount and Freight Calculation. The Freight Setup calculation option is not available with the Specified Carrier option but may be used in combination with the other offerings. In the Shipping Setup option you may also set an Overall Handling Charge for each order with the ability to waive the charge when the total order amount reaches a set level, and to waive shipping charges when the order amount reaches a set level. There is a field to check for customers to enter special shipping instructions on the billing screen. This would apply to both credit card and/or invoice customers.
*Note – no shipping charges are calculated for the Mail Order Form when UPS, USPS or FedEx is the selected shipping method. These may be calculated and displayed by using the Shipping Preview Option.

The default choice is No Shipping when a new catalog is created. This option will add no shipping charges to the total cost of a purchase when your customer checks out. However, this shipping choice can be overridden on a per item basis when you are setting up your catalog items. If you wish to add shipping cost specific to each item when you have chosen No Shipping, you would make entries on the Add New Item/Edit View Items options.
Suppress Shipping Terms on Detail and Verification Pages:
Check this box if you wish to suppress the
shipping terms on the Detail and Verification pages. Suppression of Shipping
Terms is only available with the No Shipping Option and this check off box
suppresses the terms on both pages.
Shipping
Based on Number of Items:
A set price is entered for shipping the first item and an additional cost entered for each additional item.
Shipping cost for first item: enter shipping cost for the first item
Shipping cost for each additional item: enter shipping
cost for each additional item.
If a carrier is chosen for shipping items,
Internet Conduits offers a simplified process that submits the shipping weight along
with the original and destination zip codes to UPS, USPS and Fed Ex over the
Internet and a price is returned for all the options you have checked. Your customers can use the ‘Preview of
Shipping Costs’ button once they have added an item to their shopping cart. If
you select more than one carrier and/or option, your customers will be able to
select which carrier and option to use and they will be charged accordingly. Be
sure that your company can support all carriers and options that you check. To
provide this service and return the correct charges, it is mandatory that each
item has a shipping weight associated with it. This is entered when you are
filling in the details for each catalog item in the Add New Item/Edit View Items
options. It is also mandatory that your have a valid zip code in the Shipping
From field.
The default for your catalog for shipping
items is to combine the weight of all items and assume that they will be sent
in one package. You can override the default when you are in the Add New Item/ Edit
View Item/Items Basics screen in the section called
Shipping/Packaging. If the total weight of items reaches more than 70 pounds,
the system will assume the products will be sent in 2 packages, the first
package will be figured at 70 pounds and the remaining weight figured into the
next package.
Note: If a carrier is chosen after the
initial Shipping Setup is entered, you must go back and edit each Catalog Item
to add the Shipping Weight. The Shipping Weight field on the Catalog Items screen only
appears if UPS Calculation is chosen.
Shipping From - this field is the zip code the product will be shipped from. This field is only needed if using the UPS Calculation. Please use the simple five-digit zip code. This information is passed to UPS for calculation of the shipping costs. Using an invalid or blank zip code will cause unpredictable shipping costs to be returned.
Shipping From State - select the appropriate state from the drop down box, this field is required when Specified Carriers is selected.
Shipping Based on Order Amount:

The system assumes that the lowest amount is 0.00, so enter the top range for your first break in the Item $-Amount #1 field and then enter the shipping charge in the Shipping $-Amount #1 field. Example, if the order amount range is from $0.00 to $20.00, and the shipping charge is $5.00, enter these amounts. If your second break is $20.01 to $50.00 and the charge is $7.00, enter $50.00 in the Item $-Amount #2 and $7.00 in the Shipping $-Amount #2 field. You can enter up to 5 ranges. You can also set a % for the last range. The system assumes the last range amount that you entered is the lowest amount and assesses the % assigned to any amount greater than that amount. Example, you want to bill a 3% shipping charge on any order over $150. Enter 150 in the Item $-Amount #5 (or your last range field) field and then 3 in the Shipping % #6 field. Do not enter dollar or percent signs in the money or percent fields.
