Product Search Criteria Setup - click here for help
In this option you can retrieve items for editing or deletion using various search criteria that includes by category, manufacturer/brand, product code, product name as well as items that are new, on special or on sale. At the bottom of the screen you can also determine how many items will be returned in one screen depending on the speed of your PC. The system defaults to 50 items, you can click on 10, 20, or 100 items to be returned and scroll within those results. There is also the ability to go back to previous items if needed.
You can use the Category, Manufacturer/Brand Name, Product Code or Product Name to further filter your selection. By holding down the Ctrl key, you can make multiple selections for the Category and Manufacturer. When you enter data in the Product Code or Product Name fields, the search will return all products containing the entered criteria. After you have made your selection of filters, click the Begin Search button and a list of items will be returned.
To set up the Search Criteria Properties that will be displayed to end your end customers, just click the link called Click Here To Set Up Client Side Search Criteria Properties.
You may now add the Product Search button to the Navigation Bar for both the Main and My Account pages. You may also select what search fields may be displayed for the end customer to use for both the Main and My Account screens searches. These selections may be different in each area. The following are the fields that may be checked off.
Main Page Nav Bar Search & My Account Nav Bar Search - this field activates the Product Search buttons for the Main and My Account pages
Note: the following fields are available for the Main and My Account pages
Enable Search On (ALL) Private Categories. Note: This field is not visible to the end user.
On the Main Page, if you currently have items in a Private Category and want to allow all clients to search and display these products, click this field on. If you want only customers who have a logon and password to be able to see the private items, then only click on the My Account Private Categories.
Enable Search On Product Categories
When activated this field allows end customers to search on all or one or more of the categories in the catalog.
Enable Search On Product Manufacturer
When activated this field allows end customers to search on all or one or more of the manufacturers in the catalog. They may also use this in combination with the Product Categories search.
Enable Search On Product Number
When activated this field allows end customers to search by product number
Enable Search On Product Name
When activated this field allows end customers to search by product name
Enable Search On 'On Special'
When activated this field allows end customers to search for any items that are 'On Special'. This can be used in combination with the Product Categories and/or the Manufacturer field.
Enable Search On 'New Items'
When activated this field allows end customers to search for any items that are 'New'. This can be used in combination with the Product Categories, the Manufacturer field, and/or the 'On Special' field.
Enable Search On 'On Sale'
When activated this field allows end customers to search for any items that are 'On Sale'. This can be used in combination with the Product Categories, the Manufacturer field, the 'On Special' field, and/or 'New Items' field.
Enable Items To Display Per Page. Note: If Not Enabled, 50 Items Will Be Displayed Per Page
When activated, this field will allow end customers to select how many items will be displayed per page. They may select 10, 20, 50 or 100 products per page. The default is 50 items.
Enable 'Holding Down The Ctrl Key...' Text
When activated this field will display the the above text. If you do not want this instructional message to appear, do not check this box. If you want different wording you may change the text in the Text Settings/Product Search option
