The Modify Multiple Items option can be used to select a group of products using the product search function to modify a select group of details that include price, sale and specials. For example, if you wanted to increase the price by 5% of all the items of a certain manufacturer, you could use this option. This option is not available in the Website and Basic Store Builders.
Step #1: Find Item to Modify:
Once you are on the main screen, click on Proceed to Step #1. Your next screen is Step #1: Find Items to Modify.
Step #2: Choose Modification(s):
Once you have entered your search criteria, click on Begin Search. You will be taken to the screen called Step #2: Choose Modification(s).
You will see the number of items that matched your selection criteria.
Click the Modify Price, Modify Sale and/or Modify Special box for your changes. You can then click on Proceed to Step #3, Go back and modify my search, or View the Item(s) that matched my criteria. If you click this last button, the following screen will be displayed.
After viewing the items, click the Return to Step #2 button. You can then modify your search or click on Proceed to Step #3.
On this screen you will
enter the modifications you wish to make. The second line tells you how many
items you will be modifying.
If you wish to change the price, click the button for Percent Price Increase/Decrease or Actual Price Increase/Decrease. If the change is a decrease, enter the minus sign before the numeric(s). If you are entering an ‘Actual Price Increase/Decrease’ this should equal the amount that will be added or subtracted from each item’s current price. To decrease prices by 5% , you would click the Percent Price Increase/Decrease button and enter
–5 in the Percent/Price to Increase/Decrease
box. You should not enter .05 but use whole numbers. To increase
prices of all selected items by $.50, you would click the Actual Price Increase/Decrease
button and enter .50 in the Percent/Price to Increase/Decrease field.
To put the
selected items on sale click on Percent then enter either a % savings that these items
will have while on sale. This will reduce all prices by that percentage. When
you want to take all items off sale, just click the Not on Sale button.
To mark the
selected items for Special click On Special and
then enter the special text in the field. For example, if you want to give away
a recipe book if they buy an item, the text would read ‘Get a free recipe book
with this item’. If you want to remove the
special from multiple items, just un-click the box. When all changes have been
made for the selected items click on Submit Modifications.
Results of Batch Modification:
The next screen will give you the results of your modifications.
The first line identifies the number of products that were updated and the next section lists all the changes that were made. To see the items that were updated, click View updated items.
You can now view the verification page of individual items by clicking on View.
You can now click Return to Viewing Items to see other item detail, enter other options from the Navigation Bar or Log out.
